Beads will be given out at appropriate times, whether at PLCs, court of honors, summer camps, or troop meetings. For example, the OA bead would be given at a troop meeting for those who completed their ordeal.

 

• Bronze - Honor Patrol

• Silver - Leadership Award

• Gold - Scoutmaster Award

• Red - OA Member

• Black - Served a position on the JLT (SPL, ASPL, and/or JASM)

• Dark Green - PLC

• Light Blue w/ Rainbow - Served as SPL

• Dark Blue - NYLT

• White Bead - Summer Camp (Can add more than 1 for each summer camp)

• Clear Bead - Leadership (Quartermaster, Webmaster, Scribe Troop Guide, etc…

• Small Wood Bead - Woodbadge

• Purple - Founding Members

• Light Pink - Attended a World Jamboree

• Yellow - Attended a NOAC

• Light Green - Summit Award

• Light Blue - Attended a National Jamboree

• Red Heart Bead - CPR/First Aid Certified

 

The beads will help share your scouting story and will other scouts to ask what they mean. It’s a great way to remember your experience in scouting and will be with you forever.
