Winter Packing List
Winter Camping is super fun! But it is also important to Be Prepared for it. Provided is a list of items each scout should bring to their winter camp. This is a suggested list; not everything may cover every scout's needs. Always think ahead of what you may need so you can be prepared.
Overnight Gear
#1 Sleeping Bag
#2 Sleeping Bag Liner
#3 Foam Pad
#4 Camp Blanket
Sleeping bags must be appropriate for the temperature. For Winter Camps, anything around a 0*F would work just fine.
These are great to add another layer of insulation to your sleeping bag making it nice and warm.
A Foam pad will keep your body away from the cold ground. Do not use air inflated pads as the air in them remains cold and does not benefit you at all.
A blanket will provide another layer of warmth while at camp. Wool blankets work the best and keep your scout warm incase it gets wet. Remember
Cotton kills.

If you start to sweat, remove some layers, it is okay to remove them otherwise your sweat can start to freeze and make you cold.
Remember always come prepared with the proper amount of clothing. If its a weekend campout plan an extra night of clothes for any emergency. A scout is prepared.
Always consider what your body can handle, and always pack a little extra, you will always be happy you did instead of shivering at 2:00 am wishing you had extra stuff.
Clothes will get wet and dirty. It is important to change them and bringing more than 1 will help aid in layering up to stay warm.
